FAQs

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines the neurobiological effects of ketamine with structured, intentional psychotherapy. Ketamine increases neuroplasticity and temporarily softens rigid neural pathways, allowing entrenched emotional patterns and defensive structures to become more flexible.

When paired with preparation and integration therapy, this creates a powerful opportunity for lasting change — not just insight, but embodied transformation.

  • Ketamine acts primarily on the brain’s glutamate system, stimulating the growth of new neural connections and increasing communication between brain regions involved in mood, memory, and emotional regulation.

In a therapeutic context, this can:

    • Reduce depressive and anxious rumination

    • Loosen trauma-based patterns

    • Increase cognitive and emotional flexibility

    • Enhance access to deeper emotional material

The medicine creates a temporary window of increased neuroplasticity. The psychotherapy ensures that window is used intentionally.

  • When medically screened and professionally supervised, ketamine has a strong safety profile and has been used in medical settings for decades.

Each client undergoes a thorough medical and psychological evaluation prior to beginning treatment. Sessions are structured, monitored, and supported throughout. Safety, discretion, and clinical integrity are foundational to this work.

  • Yes. Couples KAP is designed to help partners soften defensiveness, increase empathy, and access more vulnerable emotional states that may feel difficult in traditional therapy alone.

    This work can support:

    • Repair after betrayal or rupture

    • Chronic conflict cycles

    • Emotional disconnection

    • Attachment insecurity

    • Communication breakdown

Preparation and integration are especially important in couples work to ensure relational safety and sustainable change.

  • Individual KAP focuses on personal healing, identity development, trauma resolution, and strengthening self-trust.

Couples KAP focuses on relational dynamics: attachment patterns, conflict cycles, emotional intimacy, and communication repair.

Some clients begin individually before transitioning into couples work for deeper relational integration.

  • Yes. Small, curated group KAP experiences are available for individuals seeking depth within a carefully held communal container.

Group work can amplify insight through shared reflection and collective processing while still maintaining psychological safety and structure.

Groups are intentionally limited in size to ensure high-quality clinical support.

  • KAP is not a single session. Each experience includes:

    • Consultation and screening

    • Structured preparation sessions

    • The medicine session

    • Dedicated integration sessions

Transformation happens across the full arc of the process — not in the medicine session alone.

  • We are an out-of-network provider.

Upon request, a superbill can be provided for clients who wish to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plan. Reimbursement is dependent on your individual policy.

We encourage clients to verify their out-of-network mental health benefits directly with their insurance provider.

  • Many of our clients are high-achieving individuals who feel successful externally yet experience internal doubt, relational tension, or emotional constriction.

    KAP can support:

    • Strengthening internal confidence

    • Reducing over-control and hypervigilance

    • Increasing secure attachment

    • Improving assertive communication

    • Deepening emotional availability

This work is structured, discreet, and designed for individuals ready for depth, not quick fixes.
